Vintage Japanese Shippō-yaki Floral Dish
A delicate square dish featuring a softly rendered flower in pale green, lavender and white. Its luminous enamel surface and gently curved corners make it a charming decorative object for displaying jewellery or other small treasures.
Shippō-yaki, also known as Japanese cloisonné enamel, is created by applying finely ground glass enamel to a metal base and firing it at high temperatures. The name shippō, meaning “seven treasures,” reflects the jewel-like colour and brilliance associated with this traditional craft.

Handmade Disclaimer
Each piece is made entirely by hand without the use of moulds. Slight variations in shape, size and proportion are therefore expected, making every piece unique. Small traces of the making process—including white or dark specks of approximately 1 mm and subtle lines formed as the glass is folded—may also occur. These characteristics are inherent to handmade glass and are not considered defects.
Vintage pieces may show signs of age and previous use, including minor scratches, marks and other imperfections. These characteristics are part of their history and are not considered defects; returns or exchanges will not be accepted on this basis. All these marks will show in photographs. Please review all photographs carefully before purchasing.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
The glaze has developed unique crackles during firing. We recommend avoiding use with dark-coloured sauces or deeply pigmented fruit juices, as these may stain the surface.
Please hand wash only. Do not place in the dishwasher.

While unlikely, if your box arrives punctured, crushed or damaged, take a picture of it prior to opening. If a piece is damaged during shipping, please notify us at romuobjects@gmail.com within 2 days of receiving the product, along with a photo of the damage.
